Professor Jordan Pickett will be presenting this week at Indiana University's "Macedonia in the Mediterrranean Context: Ports, Connections, and Culture" conference, alongside speakers from across the US, UK, and Greece.

Dr. Langer received his doctorate from Freie Universität (FU) Berlin, Department of History and Cultural Studies in 2019. From 2021 to 2023 he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Peking University, School of Arts. In 2024, he was elected as Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (London).

The Classics Department at UGA has genuinely adhered to it's motto of "Preparing you for what comes next" after the recent report by the Modern Language Association. UGA was listed as having the largest Latin Program in the nation.

Congratulations to Molly Stevens on the successful defense of her M.A. thesis on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.  The title of her thesis: Vintage 536: The Effect of the Late Antique Little Ice Age on the Viticulture of Southern Palestine.
