Marianne's acclaimed screenplay, Cliffs of Freedom, is inspired by her novel Daughters of Destiny and unfolds against the dramatic backdrop of the Greek War of Independence of 1821—a defining moment in history when a people, bound by faith and identity, rose courageously against 400 years of Ottoman rule and subjugation to reclaim their freedom. This sweeping cinematic production, brought to life by Executive Producer, C. Dean Metropoulos, Produced by, Marianne, co-founding NHS members, stands as a tribute to the extraordinary bravery, resilience, and enduring spirit of the Greek people. Their sacrifices secured Greece’s independence, and paved the way for generations of Greek immigrants—including our own forebears—to pursue opportunity and fulfill their dreams in America.
