TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Teachers and students are encouraged to nominate a Latin teacher for this award.

THE TEACHER MUST:

• a. be a member in good standing of the GCA
• b. be a Latin teacher (K-12) in Georgia
• c. have at least three years of full time experience prior to his/her nomination
• d. be a member of at least one other regional or national classical association
• e. utilize good pedagogical practices in the classroom and demonstrate keen sensitivity to foreign language students' needs and abilities
• f. demonstrate continual professional growth in at least one of the following:
  study and/or travel in Italy or Greece
  attendance at professional meetings
  participation in foreign language workshops, retreats, or institutes
