GCA SCHOLARSHIP


The GCA Scholarship will be offered again this year. The purpose of the scholarship is to help teachers who are currently teaching Latin in the state of Georgia to undertake summer activities which will be helpful to them. The amount of the scholarship will vary, as will the number of scholarships awarded, depending on the number of applications.


DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION:


Who may apply:

The GCA Scholarship is designed for teachers who are currently teaching in Georgia and will be doing so again next year. The teacher applying must teach Latin either part or full time. In addition, the teacher must be a member of GCA.


Purpose:

The scholarship may be applied to any one of the following:
1) any college approved study abroad program relating to the classics
2) study abroad programs sponsored by classical organizations (e.g. Vergilian Society, CAMWS, ACL, etc.)
3) graduate work in the classics
4) ACL Institute
5) classics workshops or institutes
6) any study related to the classics which the applicant deems important and helpful


Supporting materials:

Please submit all of the following together in one envelope.
1) 2 letters of recommendation (from school principal, supervisor, fellow teacher, county administrator, college personnel, etc.)
2) curriculum vitae
3) purpose of request and amount requested
