Midterm:

The Midterm will consist of

  1. Map quiz (see map under "Additional Materials")--you will be asked to label a blank map of Greece
  2. Definitions (see "Study Tools")--you will be asked to provide a 1-2 sentence definition of Greek and/or literary terms
  3. Identifications--you will be asked to provide a 1-2 sentence definition of characters from the literature we have read
  4. Dates--you will be asked to match up a list of events with a list of dates
  5. PowerPt & Videos--you will be asked to answer a few objective questions about the PowerPts & videos that we have seen in class
  6. Passage Identification--you will be asked to identify (i.e., give author, title, speaker) some passages from the literature you have been assigned to read
  7. Essay--you will be asked to answer an essay on the literature you have have been assigned to read

I am not sure exactly how many points each section will be worth; but certainly the passage identification and essay will be worth the most points.

Final:

The Final will consist of

  1. Dates--you will be asked to match up a list of events with a list of dates
  2. Short answers--you will be asked to fill in the blank with either a Greek term or an historical fact
  3. Passage Identification--you will be asked to identify (i.e., give author, title, speaker) some passages from the literature you have been assigned to read
  4. Essay--you will be asked to answer an essay on the literature you have been assigned to read

The Dates, Short Answer and Passage Identification sections of the final will cover material from the time of the Midterm; the essay will cover all of the literature you have been asked to read this term.
