Athenaze 2006

Athenaze 2006 took place on Saturday, March 25th. It included a lecture by Eric Varner from Emory University entitled “Eternal Rome and the Semiotics of Death in Roman Funerary Art” Also featured was a panel on “Classics Studies Abroad Programs,” that included speakers from UGA and Georgia high schools. Also featured was a presentation on “Reacting to the Past,” the innovative pedagogy that Dr. Nancy Felson has introduced to UGA. In addition, our local chapter of Eta Sigma Phi sponsored a book sale, and our guests were treated to a complimentary breakfast and lunch.
